Nina Doroshina, a popular Soviet stage and screen actress, was injured after falling over in a trolleybus on Monday evening.
"This evening the actress was traveling by trolleybus along Novy Arbat, but when the driver braked sharply, the 78-year-old woman fell," a medical source told Itar-Tass.
The actress was taken to the hospital with a suspected fracture of the spine, but a scan revealed that she had only suffered heavy bruising, Life News reported.
Doroshina, born Dec. 3, 1934, in the Moscow region, performed in the Moscow's Sovremmenik Theater from 1959 and became famous for her role in the film "Love and Pigeons." Russian viewers fell in love with the image of a simple Russian woman, portrayed by Doroshina, who is separated from her husband by a cunning temptress played by Raisa Zakharovna. The words of the heroine Nadezhda Kuzyakina henceforth became popular sayings among Russian people.
