DJ Envy is an American disc jockey, music producer, and radio personality. He co-hosts The Breakfast Club alongside Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee. He also hosts the MTV2 countdown The Week in Jams. His discography includes The Desert Storm Mixtape: Blok Party, Vol. 1 (2003), and Audio Uprising, Vol. 1 (2011). He was dubbed the most influential radio DJ at the 2008 Underground Music Awards. Envy was born Raashaun Casey on September 3, 1977, in Queens, New York. He completed a degree in business administration at Hampton University.

CAREER
DJ Envy was discovered by fellow disc jockey DJ Clue. The two became acquainted and Envy was introduced to the New York mixtape scene. He was later signed to Clue’s label Desert Storm Records. Both DJs grew up on the same block in Queens, New York. Envy founded his own management and production company ‘BLOK Entertainment’ in 1998. He serves as the company’s president and CEO. He’s produced songs for artists like Foxy Brown, Funkmaster Flex, Def Squad, Fabolous, and Joe Budden. His credits include the action film, Exit Wounds (2001), starring Steven Seagal and DMX. Envy’s debut album, The Desert Storm Mixtape: Blok Party, Vol. 1, was released in 2003. It featured such artists as Jay Z, Lloyd Banks, Ja Rule, and Redman. The album peaked at #8 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Envy’s other albums include Love and Envy (2011), Full Breach. Vol. 5 (2014), and The Co-Op (2007) with Red Cafe. His upcoming project ‘Just A Kid From Queens’ is scheduled for release in 2018.

DJ Envy made his Hot 97 debut on a program called “Takin’ it to the Streets”, hosted by Angie Martinez. His next gig was as co-host of Hot 97’s Morning Show alongside Miss Jones. His tenure on the show ended in July 2008. Envy then hosted the Hot 97 programs “The People’s Mix”, “The People’s Choice Hit List” and “New at 2”. He hosted his own midday show on Power 105.1 in New York. In December 2010, Envy began hosting “The Breakfast Club” with Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God. He also hosts the Hip-Hop Nation’s afternoon show on Sirius XM Radio, and MTV2’s Sucker Free Countdown. Envy’s television credits include Entourage, 106 & Park, Power, Empire, and Tha Corner. He had a small role in the film Blood of a Champion (2005) starring Bokeem Woodbine. He appeared in the documentary film, Beef III (2005), directed by Peter Spirer.
